Ching Sai Do family class
This is a traditional martial arts style based in ITF Tae Kwon-Do with influnces from Akido, Judo, and a variety of other styles. Through the discipline and skills taught in traditional katas (patterns), basic actions (kicking and punching), sparring, and self-defense the students are taught to deal with most situations they will enounter. Taken collectively the student has the mental training and the techniques of unarmed combat for self-defence, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks and dodges with bare hands and feet.
However, the martial arts are more than just teaching a student to kick and punch. We aspire to follow the five tenets of Tae Kwon-Do (courtsey, integrity, perserverance, self-control, and indomitable spirit), applying them within our Christian school and our daily lives. Students can also participate in classroom exercises call the Six Tasks. These classes are designed as a journey in character building through a world of respect, teamwork, self-discipline, perseverance, leadership and knowledge. The students perform (and log) six theme-based tasks involving more than 1,000 actions, which will have a significant, positive impact on their behavior outside of the school.
The primary instructor for this program is Mark Kintigh.

Judo / Aikido
We are proud to be the only school in the Greensburg area that offers the Japanese art of Judo and Aikido. This class is for students ages 6 and up.
Sports Kenjutsu is a combative sword art accomplished with wood and now synthetic swords. This art has now expanded to include other, traditional, martial weapons, such as bo staves, nunchucka, and even hook canes. Its techniques and swordsmanship uses safe, foam padded equipment and lets participants' battle at 100% of their strength, power and capability, without the risk of injury.
